Since graduation from Indiana University in 1976, Rick has been providing real estate solutions for complex properties throughout Southwest Florida. After graduating, his career started with building houses and selling real estate.
While working in construction he became a broker and soon after got in the real estate appraisal profession. In 1987 Rick obtained his MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute. At that time he started his own professional appraisal and consulting practice, which eventually lead to bigger and more diverse opportunities. Rick established a reputation for extensive real estate knowledge and steadfast commitment to quality and professional standards.
The firm of Armalavage and Associates, Inc., is currently operated by his wife Geri, and employs 18 people. The firm has 6 MAIs and several associate appraisers. Over the years, Armalavage and Associates has appraised thousands of properties and is noted for large scale residential and commercial analysis along with expert advisory services. The firm continues to be a leader in the appraisal services industry.
Through the years, Rick became closely associated with many leaders and large scale developers. His diverse background was useful in determining highest and best use for complex properties. He has consulted for many large scale developers including The Lutgert Companies, WCI Communities, Antaramian Development Group, Gulf Bay Development, Stock Development, Jack Parker Company, Signature Communities, Bonita Bay Properties, and many more. Rick has been involved with billions of dollars of real estate development and continues to provide strategic counseling for several large scale developments. A partial list of recent projects includes Bonita Bay high-rises for Lutgert, Naples Bay Resort for Antaramian, and Paseo and Lely Resort for Stock. Rick brings an array of talents and experience to every project in which he gets involved.
In 2000, Rick ventured into the development business. His first project was Venetian Plaza Office Park. The 78,000 square foot park was started and completed within 3 years and is fully occupied. Since 2000, he has provided development and coordination for Sunset Cove timeshare resort, The 3500 Corporate Plaza Office Park, Bonita Village mixed-use community, Cordoba Villas in Lely Resort, The Ivy at Naples Grande, and Sonoma Oaks mixed use senior living community in North Naples. His existing projects total in excess of $450,000,000 in sales volume.
